Cloud computing: most sought after solution by IT managers

With the development of mobile technology and the growth of the flow of data and information that need to be shared and stored in the universe of companies, cloud computing has ceased to be a trend and has become a necessity. According to a survey carried out by IDG, in a universe of 200 companies that use information technology services, about 15% of their managers admit to having implemented one or more solutions involving the cloud.

Although this is still a small percentage, 68% of the companies surveyed declared that they intend to analyze and seek the implementation of cloud solutions in the next year , which indicates the formation of a prosperous market. But why is technology becoming the most sought-after solution by corporate IT managers and directors? The answer to that question is what we intend to address in today's post.

The demand for cloud computing

Smartphones and tablets are already part of a common reality for all of us and are also becoming a necessary tool in the corporate world. The great revolution caused by these devices concerns the ability to include data and consult it remotely and in real time. This means that managers, administrators and professionals responsible for decision-making within the company are no longer restricted to physical space and can be much more efficient, without losing the assertiveness and strategic look that these positions demand.

For data storage and information flow, however, the old software and hardware systems no longer have the capacity and security necessary for mobile technology to become efficient. For this reason, cloud computing has become a true home for those who participate in the analysis and decision-making processes within the corporate universe. The cloud also represents an increase in ROI capacity and accelerates the pace of innovation within companies.

With cloud computing systems, IT specialists and technicians have been developing platforms that allow the integration of internal and external data, further improving business intelligence from a cognitive computing system.

But it's not just companies that are benefiting from this. Migrating data to the cloud also makes interaction with customers more flexible , making the provision of services move towards on-demand delivery, that is, according to the customer's needs and according to their request.

The solution most sought after by companies, however, still merges cloud services with software and hardware systems. What many companies still don't realize is that solutions applied 100% in a cloud computing system can cost 60% less compared to solutions that need to be taken on site . Not to mention the improved agility and efficiency provided by this type of solution.

The survey that evaluated the trend and adoption of cloud computing by companies also identified the points that are considered obstacles when adopting this type of solution. According to the data, there is still resistance to changing mindsets. Few realized that the system could be much more intuitive and easy to handle than common software and hardware. Another issue is the amount of data present with these companies which, however, is not stored securely, putting the system power at risk.

The magic formula, therefore, does not exist and it is up to developers to seek alternatives that enable security and agility so that cloud computing becomes not only an option, but also a path of no return.
