Beginning with the union of several sugar mills in the municipality of Coruripe, in Alagoas, today Usina Coruripe is a benchmark in the agricultural sector. Founded in 1925 and controlled by the Tércio Wanderley group since 1941, its many years and strong investments have made it the largest company in the country's sugar-energy sector, with 8 industrial units and approximately 10,000 employees.
The company, which already uses the Oracle Cloud and the Skyone platform, has taken another step in its digital evolution. Bruno Fontoura and Reginaldo Junior, both Systems Development Analysts and responsible for the digital evolution of Usina Coruripe, spoke with us to discuss their experiences with systems integration before and after adopting the Skyone Data Module. See everything they shared with us!
Manual integrations were impractical given the high demand and digital evolution within the company
In a scenario of strong digital development and evolution, data cannot be ignored. In the case of Usina Coruripe, there was even greater urgency regarding the use of data generated in environments outside the company. Often, employees work in rural areas, and integrating this data with the company's systems was one of the major challenges faced.
Furthermore, with the recent investment in mobile solutions and the use of chatbots for WhatsApp and Teams, coupled with high demand, the team had to resort to manual integrations, sending and querying requests through APIs.
Bruno and Reginaldo emphasize how time-consuming the process of manual integration, monitoring, and updates via APIs, using programming languages, was.
Skyone Data Module: The simplicity of an iPaaS solution
Skyone's iPaaS solution reached the Usina Coruripe team through an email communication, and there was immediate interest in learning more about the platform. In our conversation, Bruno Fontoura recounts that seeing Skyone demonstrate how the platform would perform in Usina Coruripe's environment gave him considerable confidence.
What the company sought with Skyone's Data Module was primarily agility in internal integration processes, eliminating manual processes and optimizing the monitoring of its integrations. Right from the start of implementation, professionals highlighted the ease of adapting to the platform.
"We had a few hours of consulting and training with the Data team, but honestly, we didn't need it."
– Bruno Fontoura, Systems Development Analyst at Usina Coruripe.
The ease of use and intuitive operation meant that both of them could very quickly enter the necessary documentation, create workflows, and use the platform independently.
The agility that Usina Coruripe needed to integrate its systems
If agility was what Bruno and Reginaldo were looking for in their integration processes, they achieved their goal! Today, among all the systems used at Usina Coruripe – including Senior, SAP ECC, and Gatec – approximately 60% of them have at least one integration running on the Skyone platform.
There has been an increase in efficiency in the integration process, in monitoring updates, and in troubleshooting integration failures. Previously, when there was an error in the API, the team could take about 30 days to identify the source of the error. Today, on the other hand, it is possible to identify the error and solve the problem in 1 or 2 days.
"In about 2 or 3 minutes, we can expose an API, use it within a system, and see it working."
– Bruno Fontoura, Systems Development Analyst at Usina Coruripe.
Skyone's iPaaS has become a great ally for the digital evolution of Usina Coruripe, and for the future, the team envisions using other modules of the platform within its processes, making it the corporate tool and standard for company integration, regardless of hosting and destination.
