Operating in the country since 2012, the company works in the hospital, hotel, industrial, commercial and service sectors, employing over 10,000 people who guarantee excellent service to more than 5,000 clients and sanitizing approximately 882,000 tons of textiles in 21 Brazilian states, 24 hours a day.
Cloud solution: the end of system instability
To offer a complete solution for its clients, Elis Brasil has always sought to improve its logistics operations. To this end, the company also develops software that operates within its laundry plants and those of its clients. However, on-premise infrastructure lacked the necessary availability to handle the high volumes and production needs.
According to Elisângela Gomes, Technology and Software Development Manager, the traceability process for delivering solutions according to clients' schedules needs to be flawless, which is incompatible with instability.
Spending 4 hours with the software down impacted the production system for up to a week. Lack of access prevented identifying which materials were to be delivered and the location of each delivery, for example. This impacted planning and created a sense of insecurity for employees and clients. There was constant concern about the security of information, which involves not only their operations but also those of their clients.
Skyone and its scalable infrastructure to support complex processes
The partnership with Skyone began when the company decided to definitively solve its challenges and realized that migrating to the cloud was the best solution. A scalable infrastructure without constant downtime was what the company needed to support its expansion projects, putting an end to the problems caused by system interruptions.
After a period of time, and due to internal strategic cost-cutting measures, the company opted to evaluate other platforms on the market.
Thanks to the partnership we had with Skyone and the sales team who were with us at the time and still give us feedback today, we left on very good terms and with great peace of mind. We had a friendly rollout, they even helped us with the exit process, and we left the doors open – Elisângela Gomes – Technology and Software Development Manager.
ransomware attacks put the company's data and operations at risk. After almost 2 years, the decision was made to revert to Skyone Autosky, Skyone's cloud migration platform.
As a first step, a complete mapping was done to understand the most recent structure of Elis Brasil. This was a highly detailed process, as the main concern was the downtime and impacts that the migration could cause on the company's resources.
After structuring and preparation, the entire migration of Elis's environment to Skyone Autosky was done quickly. After implementation, the process continued with frequent, thorough evaluations and minor adjustments to the machines due to sizing.
It was a time when we needed much more partnership and less bureaucracy, and that's what we received. – Elisângela Gomes – Technology and Software Development Manager.
Skyone and Elis Brasil: aiming to expand their operations
Today, Elis Brasil feels comfortable putting other expansion projects into practice. All the problems that previously existed due to security have been resolved. Skyone Autosky offers the company the assurance that, even when obstacles arise, it is possible to rely on contingency plans and backups.
In addition to the resource savings resulting from increased security, there was the possibility of optimizing human resources, with a smarter internal team , since the Skyone team provides full cloud support. According to Elisângela, her team now has a coordinator and a security specialist, and both manage the environment smoothly.
Today, Skyone is able to absorb many of the new things the company is implementing with great ease. Elisângela Gomes – Technology and Software Development Manager.
Elis Brasil's next steps involve expanding its LATAM operations to Chile and Colombia. This entire expansion will be supported and backed by Skyone, which is undoubtedly very proud to be part of this partnership.
