About Panasonic
Panasonic is a Japanese company that manufactures electronic and electrical appliances. Founded in 1918 as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., Panasonic also developed an earlier product line called National, which initially manufactured household appliances, personal devices, and industrial equipment. The company began its operations in Brazil in 1967, importing and selling batteries. Currently, it has manufacturing plants in Manaus, São José dos Campos, and Extrema.
Panasonic and Skyone together
The integration project between Salesforce CRM and the company's SAP ERP optimized the Sales sector, promoting greater agility in the order entry process. With the implementation of the Skyone platform, Panasonic ensured secure information traffic and reduced integration implementation costs.
São Paulo, March 2023 – With the goal of automating end-to-end sales orders and management (from CRM to ERP), Panasonic, a manufacturer of consumer electronics, adopted the Skyone Integration platform, a technology company that supports businesses in adding intelligence and agility to their processes, simplifying how they consume technology.
Prior to the integration process carried out by Skyone, Panasonic used its own tool, created by the company more than 10 years ago, which was therefore obsolete and required a significant amount of dedication from the team, preventing them from focusing on specific needs.
"We received numerous complaints from our users, which motivated us to seek a solution. In this sense, the Skyone Studio platform added know-how to the operation, optimizing time and cost," said Marcio Ito, General Manager of IT at Panasonic Brazil.
The executive also comments on how the architectural process of the project unfolded.
We needed a solution that guaranteed end-to-end traffic security, from Salesforce CRM to SAP ERP, and that's when we found Skyone, the platform that best suited our needs. Besides being lightweight, simple, and quick to implement, the deciding factor in our choice was the support from the Skyone team, committed and engaged in ensuring the project's successful implementation, comments Marcio Ito.
Regarding the internal development of integrations, the head of sales and marketing at Skyone reiterates that this is a process that usually consumes significant time and costs for companies.
In addition to the time allocated for implementation, maintenance requires allocating a team for repairs, which can disrupt workflows since systems are disconnected for a period. With data separated, each in its own system, workflows become disorganized and negotiation decisions take longer. For this reason, it is essential to have a specialized team to expedite the integration process, he comments.
In this context, with the adoption of Skyone, Panasonic estimated a reduction of approximately 40% in the time, and consequently, the cost of integration implementation.
Long-standing partnership
However, this was not the first partnership between Panasonic and Skyone.
"Our first project, which was very successful, was in 2018, when part of our SAP system was migrated to AWS using the Skyone Autosky platform," highlighted the General Manager of IT at Panasonic Brazil.
Such satisfaction motivated Panasonic to request that Skyone be the company's official integration platform in Brazil.
This request is currently undergoing internal approval for the integration of all other systems with the ERP. Especially in the case of e-commerce, our expectation is that the entire integration will be 100% finalized by Black Friday, stated Marcio Ito.
Márcio also comments on the importance of integration for the ERP transition, which should happen soon, reinforcing that there are future plans to further expand the alliance between the companies.
Panasonic needs to migrate from SAP B1 to SAP S/4HANA. They have completely different interfaces, and reconstructions and reconnections will be necessary, not only of the interfaces but also of satellite systems with SAP. Therefore, Skyone Studio will play a fundamental role in streamlining and collaborating on this process, reducing risk and implementation costs, as well as offering even greater scalability to the business,” he concludes.
Roberto Arruda, CRO of Skyone, points out the company's purpose in being close to its team, offering the best structure and support:
Panasonic operates in a demanding, complex, and competitive market. At Skyone, our purpose is to simplify the use of technology and help Panasonic scale its business while reducing costs.
