Later, Presence turned to companies specializing in integration, seeking to outsource the process. This, however, resulted in a lack of transparency and visibility of the integrations, making it difficult to identify and resolve problems when they occurred, as Palmerico points out in his testimony.

“We tried to solve the integration difficulties in two different ways before. In the first, we had a platform that was an API on one side, like VTEX, for example, and on the other side we had our own APIs. We wrote a timed midway that hit the APIs and carried data back and forth between the systems, performing the integration. However, with all the different platforms, each one requires a different integration code. In a second phase, as the demand for code development was high, we sought specialized companies to handle these integrations. So this connectivity midway was then done through a third party, but we found a lack of transparency in the methodology used and we didn't have visibility of the integrations.” – Paulo Sergio Palmerio, CEO of Presence
