From a small grocery store to the large Dalben Supermarket chain
The Dalben Supermarkets chain , with its four stores in the metropolitan region of Campinas and Valinhos, is a vivid example of growth and evolution over the years. Founded as a small grocery store, the company is celebrating its 49th anniversary and employs over 1,500 people, maintaining relationships with more than 1,000 active suppliers. Throughout the years, its commitment to customer experience is remarkable! Whether through cutting-edge technology or strategic partnerships with key players in the industry.
Dalben's initial impetus was in agriculture, when José Dalben and Sérgio Dalben started planting tomatoes on a farm in Campinas. Their success led them to expand into other products, and gradually, they transformed their small business into a grocery store and, later, a supermarket. The first store, located in the Taquaral neighborhood of Campinas, was the starting point, and since then, the chain has grown and even includes the iconic concept store in Valinhos, which is a true benchmark in the sector.
Migration to the cloud and choosing digital evolution
The migration to the cloud for Dalben Supermarkets occurred when the existing local infrastructure could no longer keep up with the company's growth and needed an upgrade. At this critical moment, the partnership with DB Master, a company specializing in databases, opened the doors to Skyone. Skyone Autosky immediately caught their attention, leading Dalben to choose to migrate to the cloud with this platform.
The advantages of the cloud were clear. Beyond enhanced security and backup capabilities, scalability was a crucial factor. The implementation process was surprisingly simple, with data synchronization and migration taking only the necessary time. The transition was completed without major obstacles or errors, exceeding expectations.

The impact of the cloud for the Dalben Supermarkets Network
The migration to the cloud brought significant changes to Dalben. The most affected sectors were sales, finance, accounting, and tax. Sales benefited from greater agility, as it could access essential information from any of its stores, not just the headquarters. The finance, accounting, and tax departments also experienced notable productivity gains. Processes such as generating reports and SPED files became much more efficient.
The migration also allowed for greater flexibility and scalability. Dalben can now predict and adjust resources according to demand, something that was difficult to achieve with physical servers. Furthermore, system performance has improved significantly, reducing costs associated with servers and workstations.
Thiago Miguel, IT Manager at Dalben Supermarkets, emphasizes: “The cloud was our best investment of 2023. The change we experienced was very positive.”
Technological Evolution: Driving the Customer Experience
For Dalben Supermarkets, technological evolution is a key element in meeting the diverse needs of its customers. Each store caters to a different audience, and technology allows the company to adapt its services to these distinct profiles. A concept store in Valinhos, for example, relies heavily on technology to offer an innovative shopping experience for its customers.
With over 16,000m², the store offers a variety of services and experiences, including a multi-brand shopping arcade, a culinary school, a food court, ready-made meals created by local chefs, a florist, a coworking space, a drive-thru option for online purchases, a beer garden, a warehouse with products sold in bulk, and a wine cellar with over 500 wine labels and various interactive panels to facilitate browsing
Fernanda Dalben, Marketing Director of the Dalben Supermarkets chain, highlights the role of technology in operational and strategic efficiency:
"Technology enhances the shopping experience, streamlines internal processes, and allows the company to expand its business. Dalben plans to continue investing in technology to grow as a brand and a business.".
Leveraging cybersecurity and extending the partnership with Skyone
Recently, Dalben Supermarkets signed a contract with Skyone to adopt our cybersecurity module. The security of customer data and the growing threat of ransomware attacks were the main drivers of this investment. The company recognizes the importance of protecting its internal and partner data, especially with the integration of its e-commerce platform.
Dalben Supermarkets demonstrates a continued commitment to digital evolution to meet growing market demands and ensure its customers have a safe and efficient experience. The partnership with Skyone continues to play a key role in its digital transformation journey, and we are excited to further strengthen this partnership to support this growth.
