Skyone has just announced its new Partner and Director of Legal Affairs, Compliance and Governance, Renata Barros. The executive joins the company with the goal of improving Skyone's level of corporate governance, working on all legal and compliance matters, aiming to contribute to the company's significant growth.
According to the KPMG survey "Compliance Maturity in Brazil," 75% of executives affirm that a culture of compliance is essential for the successful growth of their company. In line with this scenario, the new executive already has a strategic action plan that includes highlighting the company's internal controls. "I am very happy to be part of Skyone and convinced that the first results of the new management will be noticeable from the beginning of 2024, because evolving the company's regulations means understanding compliance as an ally of the business," says Renata.
The Director also foresees new business opportunities focused on data and cybersecurity, based on the strategic vision of complying with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). “To guarantee sustainable growth, Skyone has committed to total legal security in its relationships, both contractual and with investors and employees, including regulatory compliance. With this in mind, I intend to contribute to the observance of important actions already consolidated, adding even more robustness to them,” explains the executive.
Ongoing projects
Renata reveals her intention to implement a Structured Risk Committee, which will have synergy with the Privacy and Data Protection Committee, already existing in the company and now under her management. "Skyone has grown exponentially in a short period of time. Therefore, we are evolving the level of risk mapping and criticality assessment," she reiterates.
The Board will also be responsible for the Ethics Committee and for actions related to Skyone's Code of Conduct, whose values guide the behavior of all SkyOwners. “Skyone is a very successful company because it values integrity, respect, and responsibility in conducting business. Therefore, I feel honored to be part of this project and to contribute my knowledge so that our clients can reach the cloud with agility and innovation,” emphasizes the executive.
Professional experience
Renata holds a law degree from FMU University Center, a postgraduate degree in Digital Law, Innovation and Ethics in Business from FIA Business School, and a postgraduate degree in Civil Procedure from PUC São Paulo, as well as an Executive MBA in Business Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
