From Grocery store to multisectoral group: the impact of 50 years of growth
What started as a small supermarket in the city of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, in Santa Catarina, has now become one of the largest conglomerates in the region. Under the name Grupo MundialMix, the company diversified its operations beyond retail, entering sectors such as wholesale, construction, FM radio, financial services and real estate. In the supermarket sector, there are 20 Imperatriz stores, in addition to 11 Brasil Atacadista brand units, totaling 31 stores.
Modern challenges for a diversified operation
The rapid expansion and multiplicity of businesses brought new challenges to the MundialMix Group, especially in the IT infrastructure. Alexandre Lischka, Manager responsible for the IT area, mentions the need for a solid and secure infrastructure, especially in the context of migration to the cloud. Furthermore, the issue of cybersecurity has become a priority given the increasing complexity of operations. As he points out, “Connectivity and latency were initial concerns, as were the costs associated with maintaining an on-premises data center.”
Skyone: A new level of security and efficiency
To sustain its growth and face technological challenges, the MundialMix Group chose Skyone as a strategic partner. The Skyone platform , which offers modular solutions, brought the necessary resilience and scalability through the cloud computing Skyone Autosky product . Furthermore, the Cybersecurity guaranteed real-time protection, monitoring threats and ensuring the integrity of the operation's sensitive data. This continuous analysis allowed the group to focus its efforts on expanding its stores and businesses, safe in the knowledge that its technological infrastructure was secure and stable.
“With Skyone, we were able to align our growth with security, without sacrificing efficiency”, highlights Alexandre.
Cloud Transformation: Connectivity and Cost Savings
Since implementing Skyone, MundialMix Group has experienced significant improvements in its operations. One of the biggest advances was the reduction in latency in connectivity to the cloud, which reached 20 milliseconds, eliminating interruptions and providing continuous operation. Furthermore, the group was able to eliminate the high costs of upgrading and maintaining a local data center, making the cloud environment a sustainable and efficient solution in the long term.
Skyone's cybersecurity solution ensured that the group kept its operations safe from cyberattacks, which allowed the IT team to focus on strategic growth initiatives.
The future in the clouds: Expansion and innovation with a focus on AI
With Skyone managing its IT infrastructure, MundialMix Group is exploring new technological opportunities, including the use of artificial intelligence. Alexandre mentions that, although AI is still being analyzed, the company sees great potential in optimizing sales processes and inventory management. However, he reinforces that the adoption of these technologies will require careful planning, especially in terms of cost-benefit and security.
“The future of retail involves artificial intelligence, and we are evaluating how this technology can help us predict sales and improve our inventory management”, concludes Alexandre.
