About the company
Founded in the city of Suzano, in the interior of São Paulo, in June 1982, Suzantur has established itself as one of the main tourist charter companies in the Alto Tietê region, offering bus rentals in nine cities in São Paulo. In 2014, the company expanded its activities by winning public transport tenders in the city of Mauá. In July 2016, the company won the bid for the emergency contract and to take over the 61 lines of public transport in the city of São Carlos.
Challenge
With an ever-increasing database, Suzantur's network structure began to be insufficient to deploy a networked system and maintain stable servers. “Taking care of backup, storage, licenses and maintenance was a lot of headaches”, says Leonardo Lopes Ferreira, IT analyst at Suzantur. According to Ferreira, the company would have to spend around R$18,000 to modernize the infrastructure. Without this investment, the database system backup would continue to be done manually, leaving important company information at the mercy of human error. The IT department would continue to systematically check the server processes to avoid surprises with failures. Several routine processes in the company's routine also depended on manual efforts: “Even to close a payroll, we depended on specific software , it took more than a week”, says Ferreira.
Another factor that worried Leonardo Lopes Ferreira was electricity. In addition to the cost of multiple servers connected full time, the outdated structure caused overload on the network and could, at any time, burn servers, sources and HDs. “In order not to run this risk, we would have to invest a lot in UPSs and cabling”, says the analyst.
Solution
Suzantur's first contact with Skyone's technology took place at the beginning of 2015, when the company acquired Globus Cloud, cloud management software for passenger and cargo transport companies, developed by BgmRodotec, a Skyone partnership. The new technology was implemented with the help of accessible technical support. In less than two weeks of training, around 60 Suzantur employees were already able to use the new system.
Results
“It was easy, fast and safe, we no longer have headaches with backup, storage and maintenance”, says Leonardo Lopes Ferreira, who now just needs a good internet connection to access all the company's data from any device and from any location. In addition to practicality, financial viability was another positive point. Instead of spending R$18,000 on new infrastructure, Suzantur invested less than half to migrate everything to the cloud.
Manual processes were a thing of the past and the company no longer had setbacks with power outages and server instability. “There is protection for any problem that appears and we have a very helpful support”, says Ferreira. Suzantur, which already has the cloud platform in Suzano and Mauá, is already waiting for the implementation in São Carlos to start its activities in the city. The analyst explains that through the cloud, the company started to monitor new processes, such as the time of entry and exit of vehicles, monitoring of trips and diagnosis of accidents. “The future is the cloud, it is a tool that serves all areas of the company, from tire repair, to finance, accounting and HR”, bets Ferreira.
